Too tired to write a good title for this post.

"The appetite for celebs grows insatiable," says a cover line on Thursday's RedEye.

Grows?

The cover story shows that this might be news in money terms, but otherwise it's not news at all. And why doesn't the story mention RedEye's own lame attempts to market itself with gratuitous, vapid celeb news?

I like this cover in itself—the shrieking italicized text, the really, really bad cutouts, and the general parodying of People, New York Post and Weekly World News all at once. It's really fun and the colors are a riot. But the point only gets across if you accept the assumption that RedEye has some kind of restraint or tact—which it doesn't—to pride itself on.
