The Tribune Company's RedEye offers a promising format, but mostly just gives us the best of the obvious: clarifications only cretins need, cover stories we'd stopped caring about long before press time, disastrously self-important display type... Eating Your Own Young

Holy hell! A RedEye columnist mocking the astounding glory of celebrity! Mark Bazer may not be the best entertainment satirist, but it's good enough to be today's Nugget of Salvation from this paper's US Weeklyesque celebrity-news quagmire. The least RedEye can do is hire writers, like Bazer, who ocassionally are slightly anti-RedEye in their approach. But perhaps RedEye just planted Bazer to placate readers like me.
